Susie Al-Qassab

Susie is a highly experienced employment lawyer who supports both individuals and organisations through complex and sensitive workplace issues. She offers clear, strategic advice across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, with a particular focus on senior professionals and C-suite executives in sectors including finance, media, advertising, professional services, education and the public sector.

She is particularly adept at dealing with complex and emotionally charged situations where individuals are facing restructuring, disciplinary proceedings (including cross-over regulatory and criminal matters) or grappling with long-running and unresolved grievances and whistleblowing disclosures, often in high-stakes environments where reputations and careers are on the line. She also advises on contract negotiations, amicable exits and the resolution of workplace grievances.

Susie has a strong track record of representing under-represented groups in internal processes and litigation, regularly handling discrimination cases at the highest levels of private business, educational institutions and the public sector (particularly within the NHS). Her approach is both robust and empathetic, grounded in a deep understanding of what’s at stake for her clients.

Alongside individual representation, Susie supports organisations with investigations, complex grievances/disciplinaries, reorganisations and Tribunal litigation. She has conducted several high-profile investigations into allegations of sexual harassment and bullying, reporting directly to boards and advising on follow-up action. Her advice is practical, ethical and values-led, balancing legal risk with organisational integrity.

Clients consistently value Susie’s ability to listen, understand and collaborate. One described her as “a strong strategist and nimble tactician,” with “an almost photographic memory of key documents” and “the ability to form sound partnerships with clients.” Others have praised her “commercial, practical and very calm” style, highlighting her clarity of thought and costs transparency.

Susie has over 15 years’ experience in private practice, including roles at Finers Stephens Innocent, Howard Kennedy, and as Partner and Head of Department at social justice firm Hodge Jones & Allen. Before qualifying as a lawyer, she was a senior manager at Procter & Gamble in Geneva.

She is ranked in Chambers UK 2026 for her work with Senior Executives, and is also recognised in Legal 500 2026 in the Senior Executives category for her outstanding contributions. She is a regular adviser to listeners of BBC Radio 4’s Money Box.
