Employment and Commercial Disputes Law Paralegal

The firm is based in Dallington Street in Clerkenwell, a convenient walk from Farringdon and Old Street stations.

The Role

We are looking to add a capable Paralegal to our team. 

The successful candidate will support the firm’s lawyers on day-to-day client matters, providing paralegal and administrative support to all lawyers.  

For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to progress to a Trainee Solicitor role (subject to performance).

Responsibilities will include:

  • Client liaison: you will be the first point of contact for new client enquiries coming into the firm and will be expected to liaise with clients both in person and over Microsoft Teams/by telephone. 

  • File opening and case management: you will be responsible for preparing initial drafts of engagement letters and assisting fee earners to ensure all file opening and compliance processes have been completed. 

  • Court and Tribunal preparation: you will be responsible for preparing and checking court and tribunal bundles. 

  • Document preparation: you will be involved assisting fee earners to draft correspondence and legal documentation for clients.

  • Legal research: you will conduct research into a variety of legal issues to support the fee earners.

  • Administrative support: you will be required to provide exceptional administrative support to the firm’s fee earners and management team including:
    • proof reading and redacting documents
    • photocopying and scanning documents
    • keeping paper and electronic filing up to date

  • ESG: you will ensure that appropriate working practices and procedures are followed to help the firm meet the highest standards of social and environmental behaviour and take an active role in initiatives run by the firm or others which benefit the community and/or the environment.

This is a full-time office-based role.

We are looking for proactive candidates who have lots of drive and enthusiasm, with the ability to manage client workloads and priorities.  Candidates should be able to approach matters from a legal and commercial perspective. As we are small firm, a friendly nature and the ability to ‘muck in’ and get the job done are crucial. 

Key Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent technology skills.  Experience of Microsoft 365 (particularly Word and Excel) is advantageous

  • Ability to proactively manage own workload and be a self-starter

  • Ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines and requests from lawyers

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Client focussed – ability to build excellent rapport and gain the confidence of our clients

  • Good communication skills
